Kiwi pioneer Biolife NZ takes a lead role on world stage
Kiwi company Biolife New Zealand is making its mark in the world’s largest market and on the world stage at the Shanghai World Expo.
Biolife New Zealand Business Executive David Swaffield says John Key’s recent visit to the Expo thrust New Zealand into the spotlight.
“As a strong supporter of the New Zealand – China Free Trade Agreement, we jumped at the opportunity to be part of showcasing the best of New Zealand to China and the world as the sole and exclusive supplier of colostrum products and pregnancy milk formula to the New Zealand pavilion,” says David.
“It has also been important for us to take a leading role in easing the tension between the Chinese and the New Zealand dairy export industry after the Sanlu affair by continuing the production of safe, high quality dairy products.”
On the 1st and 2nd of July this year, Biolife New Zealand invited key stakeholders to join them at the New Zealand Pavilion. This provided an important common ground for parties including China Dairy Industry Association, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise as well as industry partners, distributors and customers.
“With recent media attention around the Crafar farms and the takeover of a New Zealand dairy manufacturer by Bright Dairy Co, we recognise the importance of maintaining our strong relationships with the agricultural industry both in New Zealand and China,” says David. Biolife New Zealand was the first company to bring certified colostrum products to China and has pioneered the Chinese colostrum market since they first introduced its innovative formula products in 1999. Today, Biolife is the market leaders in China.
David says the company’s success is due to its commitment to creating the highest quality natural health products based on innovative science, and supporting the development of stringent industry standards in an emerging market.
“Over the past decade, Biolife New Zealand has made a significant contribution to the development of the colostrum market in China, educating the public on the health benefits of colostrum and aiding Chinese regulatory bodies in developing safety regulations and standards.”
Developed and manufactured in Auckland, Biolife New Zealand’s research – often in collaboration with academic and industry experts – focuses on natural colostrum compounds that improve health and wellbeing and support the immune system.
